People In North End Have Their Say On City Services

People in the north end want better bus service and roads if the Ward 2 meeting at Lorne Middle School is any indication.

Only 7 per cent of those who took part in the community workshop are satisfied with transit and only 15 per cent are happy with the roads.

There was a surprise for Ward 3 Councillor Donna Reardon, who lives uptown and that was 61 per cent satisfaction with garbage collection.

23 per cent of the people who voted at the meeting were satisfied with the fire service and 27 per cent with police.

They apparently would be willing to pay more to have something done with vacant buildings.

Councillor Shirley McAlary says as much money as possible will have to be earmarked for road repairs and paving next year.
