MacKenzie Wants To See Main Street Improvements

Common Councillor John McKenzie describes the stretch of Main Street North from Lansdowne Avenue to the L-B-R as the gateway to the uptown but more recently it resembles a place where traffic races through on the way to somewhere else.

He tells CHSJ News Main Street is much wider than it needs to be.

He says there is a lot of valuable space that is wasted.   He says it would be safer to reduce the lanes to two and add some trees and bike lanes.

MacKenzie envisions condos and more retail in that part of the north end and he will be asking the City Manager and people in planning to formulate a draft plan with proposals on how to make that happen.
