City Marking Loyalist Day

Period clothes and bayonets aren't everyday sights in the Port City, but that's exactly what you'll see uptown today.

It's all part of Loyalist Day, and to commemorate the event, there's ceremony and flag raising event at 10 a.m. at City Hall. Dignitaries from the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, the City and the United Empire Loyalists’ Association will be present.

The regiment will continue to mark the event with a 21-gun-salute slated to happen at noon on Pugsley Wharf by the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal. They'll also be exercising their Freedom of the City, which was granted in December of 1968.
