Crime Stoppers Working With SPCA To Eliminate Animal Abuse

Two organizations in the province teaming up to crack down on animal abuse in the province.

Sergeant Noel Cyr of provincial Crime Stoppers tells CHSJ News their partnership with the SPCA began when the animal welfare group approached them and asked if they could help bring this issue to the public.

Last year in New Brunswick, animal protection officers investigated about 1500 reports of cruelty and neglect involving more than 4000 animals. Cyr says if you witness an animal in distress or feel that an animal is not being properly looked after, you should report it.

If you would like to do so, you can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at www.crimenb.ca, or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also report a case of animal cruelty and abuse to the SPCA by calling 1-877-722-1522.
