(Cruise ship docked at Water Street terminal - file photo)

The Labour Day weekend is a busy one for the local cruise industry -- the Carnival Triumph is in port today along with the Norwegian Majesty bringing a total of 46-hundred passengers. Then overnight -- the Queen Mary 2 slips into the Water Street cruise terminal with 25-hundred passengers for the first of three visits between now and early November -- the big luxury liner is scheduled to depart at 11:30 tomorrow evening. And on Labour Day -- the Explorer Of The Seas will be docked bringing another 33-hundred passengers.

Labour Day Parade

Everyone loves a parade, and Mayor Ivan Court is celebrating Labour Day with one. On September 7th unionized and non-unionized workers will gather for a parade celebrating the holiday.
The parade starts at noon along city road, and finishes at Fisher Lake.

Camp Shut Down

Shutting down the main power panel is just one of the things on the to do list for summer home owners. This as most lock up their second home for another summer season. Captain Andrew Sanojca with the Musquash Fire Department tells CHSJ News, a quick look for un-welcome visitors is a good idea as well.
Sanojca adds if your going to take the battery out of your smoke detector, make sure you leave the cover open so you don't forget to put a fresh battery in when you re-open the camp.
