House Fire on Loch Lomond Road

Fire crews busy last night fighting a blaze at 2225 Loch Lomond Road.
Just after 9 o'clock crews responded to the structure fire to find flames coming from the home.
After an aggressive attack, fire crews were able to contain the blaze to the living room area. The living room suffered heavy smoke, fire and water damage, while the remainder of the home sustained smoke damage.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries.

Accident on Highway 7

A 41 year old man may be facing charges after a single vehicle accident last night on Highway 7.
Just after 7 o'clock last night the man crashed his car, and was found almost a kilometre away.
Police say he was taken to the hospital and suffered minor injuries.
Charges may be laid after the results of his blood test is returned.

The Former Conservative Finance Minister says the Liberal Government shouldn't be concerned about NB Power's debt for future generations because the utility has to pay it's own debts.
Jeannot Volpe says he doesn't understand the logic of selling the utility to reduce provincial debt, because NB Power is responsible for it's own debts.
Volpe says what the Graham Government should be concerned about is it's spending.

KV Fire Chief Retires

The proper paper work has been filed and the search is on for a replacement. Kennebecasis Valley Fire Chief Larry Greer is hanging up the helmet and shield after 40 years on the job but no official date has been circled. Greer tells CHSJ News, it wasn't an easy decision.

Chief Greer says he leaves the job with no regrets and proud of what has been accomplished while he was in charge of the department.
