The Conservative Candidate in Saint John Lancaster says she lives her life in the riding even though her home is in Saint John Harbour and her business, which is in the riding, is up for sale.

That has many questioning where Dorothy Sheppards loyalty lies but she tells CHSJ News, that shouldn't cross anyone's mind because her dedication to Saint John Lancaster is unwavering.
Sheppard says Elections NB has no issue with this. The only requirement was to have the residents of Saint John Lancaster elect her at the nomination.

With over 250,000 people renting an apartment in this Province, it's governing body is calling for change to the issue of double tenant taxation.

The Apartment Owners Association says it is the process where people living in apartments are taxed twice for the same property.
The group has been lobbying the Province for five years to adress the issue and spokes-person Willie Scholten tells CHSJ News, he agree's with Shawn Graham on one front.

If the taxes are reduced, the savings will go back to the tenants.

Scholten says this Province is the only one in the country that still applies the double taxation method.
Shawn Graham says they continue to search for a mechanism that will provide relief for those living in an apartment and make sure building owners don't take the profits for themselves.

The Conservatives are promising to beef up services to the disabled if they form the government after the September 27th provincial election.

Among other things -- Alward is committing to provide 1.5-million dollars in additional annual funding to enhance access to on the job employment support for people with disabilities for a 52-week period -- up from the current 12-weeks.

A conceptual design of the proposed new parking garage as part of the Peel Plaza Development has been unveiled by the Parking Commission. It doesn't look like your run of the mill grey looking, concrete garage many people are used to seeing.

Architect Colin Turner of A-D-I calls it the new wave of parking garages that have sprung up elsewhere with alot of colour. The proposed parking garage leaves open the possibility of further development around it or even on top of the building.

Those people who work at the new Justice complex will be using the parking garage which still must be approved by Common Council.
