The Conservation Council is looking to raise awareness about a pesticide about to be used in the Bay of Fundy to control sea lice.Spokesperson Dave Thompson tells CHSJ News, previous pesticides used are not doing the trick anymore, so stronger ones need to be used.
Thompson says this is a cause for concern because the chemical they are using can be dangerous to shellfish, and other marine life. He says there has been no public consultation on using the pesticide in the Bay of Fundy, and that's not acceptable.
