A couple of fires in the city yesterday.
Just after 1 o'clock in the afternoon the fire department responded to a call of a structure fire on Arthur Street West.
Firefighters found the smoke in the kitchen of a residence, but was quickly able to extinguish the blaze.
One firefighter has been sent to the hospital for unknown injuries.
The kitchen of the house is the only part suffering damage.
Meanwhile, at around 8:30 last night crews responded to a fire at a vacant building at 50 Durham Street.
Firefighters found a small fire in the back wall of the building, and took 45 minutes to battle the flames.
The Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
