For safety reasons, Main Street West is closed to traffic between Ready Street and Church Avenue.
Motorists are asked to use a detour on Catherwood and Ready Streets.
Construction work is underway to install a water main along with curb repair and asphalt patching.
The road is expected to reopen to westbound traffic only tomorrow afternoon.
