With over 250,000 people renting an apartment in this Province, it's governing body is calling for change to the issue of double tenant taxation.
The Apartment Owners Association says it is the process where people living in apartments are taxed twice for the same property.
The group has been lobbying the Province for five years to adress the issue and spokes-person Willie Scholten tells CHSJ News, he agree's with Shawn Graham on one front.
If the taxes are reduced, the savings will go back to the tenants.
Scholten says this Province is the only one in the country that still applies the double taxation method.
Shawn Graham says they continue to search for a mechanism that will provide relief for those living in an apartment and make sure building owners don't take the profits for themselves.
