Legal Bills Mount In Pension Board Lawsuit Against Former Common Councillor

The legal bills from the pension board's lawsuit against former common councillor John Ferguson for defamation are now more than 834 thousand dollars.

In a letter to Common Council, the pension board says its not suing Ferguson for asking questions but for accusing the board's trustees of deliberately acting illegally.

Back in August, Ferguson, who is now the town administrator in St. Stephen, in a statement of defence, said any defamatory statements about the trustees are untrue.
