Shale Gas Implications Are Far Reaching Says Opponent

If you think shale gas exploration won't happen in your backyard, then Carl Wolpin with Hampton Water First wants you to think again.

He tells CHSJ News about one third of the southeast part of the province is licensed to companies for shale gas exploration, which could mean 15 to 50 thousand gas wells in the province.

He says the shale gas industry can definitely have negative effects on the Saint John and Quispamsis watershed.

Wolpin and other anti-shale gas groups will be holding an information session on fracking this Sunday at 1:30pm at 525 Sandy Point Road.  Admission is free.
