Police Association President Blasts Police Chief For Silence

The president of the Saint John Police Association taking Police Chief Bill Reid to task -- Jamie Hachey says the silence from the chief regarding the effects of a one million dollar funding shortfall is unacceptable.

Hachey tells CHSJ News they have never had police chief who engaged in this much radio silence and it is unprecedented.

He says the rank and file deserve to know what effects the new budget will have on officers and the community.

He adds police management has not consulted community groups about the possible effects of the funding shortfall and the association will take it upon themselves to do so.
