Gallant's departure leaving a vacancy that will be filled by Mike Kelly as the new Head Coach and GM for the Sea Dogs.
Kelly tells CHSJ News it's an exciting challenge at a different time for the team.
He says as the older players graduate they are losing a lot of skill but they are excited about the young players coming in and some of the players drafted last year that didn't play on a regular basis.
Kelly says Gerard Gallant has earned his opportunity with the Habs adding he became a close friend over 3 years and he couldn't be happier for him.
