Police and fire are investigating the cause of a west side blaze this morning.
Platoon Chief Joe Armstrong tells CHSJ news fire crews arrived at 41 Ferry Cove lane just after 9 am. Armstrong says en route they were told it was possible someone was stuck in the building, but once they arrived on scene the homeowner had managed to escape out the first floor. He was taken to hospital for what is believed to be smoke inhalation.
Crews were on scene for about two hours.
