Activist Not Impressed With Pipeline Meeting

It was a full house at NBCC for a kiosk-style information session on the West-East oil pipeline; however, Environmental activist Gordon Dalzell tells CHSJ News the format left a lot to be desired compared to a town hall meeting.

Dalzell says big businesses tend to prefer the kiosk style format because they'd rather deal with people on an individual basis that in organized groups with a lot of information.

Dalzell also says the National Energy Board Act has changed so that people have to fill out a ten page application in order to have their concerns formally heard--making it all the more important for people to make it out to the public engagement meetings.
