Nuclear Waste Management Organization Comes to Saint John

Saint John could be the site for the storage of Nuclear Waste.  The national Nuclear Waste Management Organization stopping in Saint John today (yesterday) for an open house as it designs a process for selecting a host community. Director of Strategic Communications, Jamie Robinson tells CHSJ news municipalities closest to the nuclear power plant are most likely to welcome nuclear waste storage.

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization is looking to the four nuclear provinces-- New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan--as a place to store the used nuclear fuel. Waste is currently being stored at the reactor sites. The project is worth between 16 and 24 billion dollars and will create thousands of jobs.
