Smoke coming out of a third floor window at 82 King Street brought emergency crews to the area just after twelve o'clock.
Fire crews made their way up the staircase to discover that the building is under-going renovations and the smoke was actually dust from a machine.
The top half of King Street was shut down to traffic for about 15 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
