Most of us have too much stuff and the province is shining a light on the fact with Waste Reduction Week.

Environment Minister and Rothesay MLA Margaret Ann Blaney tells CHSJ News it's a chance for people to realize how much we waste at home and at work.
Blaney says it gives us an opportunity to think about how much we produce and how much we throw out.

In additon to reducing food waste and the use of plastic, in particular, plastic shopping bags, many of which wind up in the landfill instead of being recycled. Blaney adds people are also encouraged to recycle their old cellphones.
