Error Made In One Of The Charges For Driver Involved In Cylist's Death

The sentencing for Jason Donald Dickison hitting a technical snafu.

Dickison has entered a guilty plea to a charge of driving without due care and attention in the death of an American cyclist on Route 7 near Petersville Hill back in September.

However, there was no plea to the second charge of excess hours of service because defense attorney Peter Crocco says the crown technically charged Dickison under the wrong section of the motor vehicle act.

The crown wants to amend the charge in court but the defense says any changes must be made within six months of the incident.

The issue has been adjourned until Dickison's sentencing hearing for the first charge on July 27th.
