The new campaign being kicking off today with the annual "Poor Boy's" luncheon of beans and weiners at the Trade and Convention centre.
Chairman Wayne Chamberlain tells CHSJ News they tried to fund the whole social problem versus serving one client with one need.
He says the United Way funds 24 agencies with core funding and dozens of others with one-time grants.
Chamberlain says those agencies range from the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Boys and Girls Club and Hestia House.
