Food And Clothing Bank Low On Supplies

The list of names of those in need is longer than usual at a local food and clothing bank.

Samantha Brewer of the Lakewood Head Start Association tells CHSJ News they're hosting a food drive in order to stock their shelves. She says they've experienced rise in the need for food over the last two years, and their supplies are getting low.

Brewer says their clientele is generally older people, and they've noticed many people seem to be out of work and needing help.

The drive is coinciding with a parade coming as part of Old Home Week in St. Martin's on July 27. Brewer says they're encouraging people to bring food to the parade and volunteers from the food and clothing bank will come and pick those up.
