Safety Changes At NB Southern Railway

NB Southern Railway is changing its safety procedures in an attempt to make its employees and the public feel safer.

The changes include a policy not to leave trains unattended on mainline operations, to park trains safely on rail sidings, and giving crews more specific policies on where and when they should use hand brakes.

The changes are in line with the broader series of changes rolled out by Transport Canada yesterday.
