PotashCorp is looking at building a new access road from the Causeway to the potash terminal along with an expansion of the railway holding yard.
General Manager Stewart Brown says they're in the engineering stage and says if they're thinking optimistically, construction would start in late 2014 or early 2015. Brown says the new road would cut down on the heavy truck traffic on Crowne Street.
Brown says there's an expanding market for potash because every year the world's population grows, and the demand for food, and consequently, fertilizer grows with it.
