Program Teaches Seniors To Protect Themselves

Seniors are a prime target for fraudsters, but police in Rothesay are teaching some how to spot a scam.

Their third installment of the six-week Seniors Police Academy starts on October 8 and educates them on fraud prevention, traffic safety, internet safety, and elder abuse.

Constable Krystal Daley tells CHSJ News they hope the people who go to the academy take what they learn and share it with others. She says the more information that's out there, the better.

They're now accepting registration for the program. There's no cost to participate but space is limited. To sign up, call Constable Daley at 849-5791 or e-mail her krystal.daley@nbpolice.ca.
