A shortage of workers, especially women in the I.T. sector is the focus of a work-shop at UNBSJ today. Many companies including J.D. Irving and Aliant X-Wave have been struggling to get several positions filled and Ruth Shaw with UNBSJ tells CHSJ News, these companies and several others are leaving the Province to find workers.
Shaw adds there is a public perception that the dot com bust is tied into I.T. jobs and that is not the case. These are careers with solid companies and opportunities for growth.
