Fire Quickly Knocked Down On Germain Street

Fire crews knocking down a small fire at a two-unit apartment building at 275 Germain Street.

The call came in around 2:40 this afternoon and Acting District Fire Chief Barry Oickle says a cause has not been determined yet.

He says when crews arrived they noticed smoke coming from a window.  The fire was quickly put out and contained to a single room.

He adds there is minimal structure damage and no one was hurt.

The building was evacuated and he expects at least the first floor residents will be able to return to the building.
