There will be life after Acadian Coach Lines with a new regional bus service starting up on December 1st. Prince Edward Island-based Tri-Maritime Bus Network, also known as Trius, is taking over intercity bus service.
The final thumbs up was given by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board following earlier approval in New Brunswick.
Maritime Bus has a fleet of 42 buses but plans to add up to 20 additional buses by May and will operate under the same rates approved for Acadian Lines in June 2010.
The company will be allowed to add a fuel surcharge and provide certain discounts for groups such as students and seniors.
