Complaints about the noise from scrap metal being loaded in ships at the port making some people wonder about the effect of noise on property values.
Jason Stephen, President of the Real Estate Board tells CHSJ News there are a lot of factors that come into play when pricing your house. And while noise is one of those factors, he says it's not necessarily a deal-breaker for home-buyers.
He says if your house is nice enough, a buyer may look past something like noise.
Stephen says you can't really equate the approximate value when you're talking about selling something like houses in a noisy area, but it's something a homeowner can find out for themselves on an individual basis by talking to their realtor.
