City Wants Quality Assurance On Road Work

Common Council is looking into demanding quality assurance or long-term warranties from work done on city roads.

Mayor Ivan Court says roads are deteriorating too quickly and the city needs to hold companies accountable for work that carry price tags in the millions.

Councilor Mel Norton suggesting the anticipated life span of the road could be included in the work contract but Director of Public Works Shane Galbraith says it would be hard to enforce given extenuating circumstances like the weather.
