Santa Claus Parade Street Closures

All four lanes of the causeway will be blocked off starting at 3 for the parade line-up. The Courtney Bay causeway will re-open right after the parade.

The parade route will be the same as last year. The Parade will leave the Causeway, to Union St., a left onto Sydney St., right on King's Square North, left on Charlotte St., down King St, to St. Patrick, to Main St., right on Lansdowne Ave., and right at Wellesley Blvd. All of these streets will be closed during the parade.

 Citizens are asked not to park on King Street starting at 5 pm. Cars parked anywhere along the parade route after 5:30 will be towed. Everyone is asked to be mindful of all signage along the parade route.

Small Fire At Rothesay Park School

Police and Fire responding to a small fire at Rothesay Park school, at about 11 this morning. The fire started in the staff room and was immediately put out. 

The cause of the fire appeared to be from a sofa directly up against a heater. Police and Fire are investigating.

Collision On McAllister Dr. & Westmorland Rd

 Ambulance responding to a collision on McAllister Dr. and Westmorland Rd. between a dump truck and a Honda Civic, around 9:45 this morning.

The driver of the Honda was shaken up, but no serious injuries were reported.

Three Men Sentenced For Armed Robbery In Rothesay

Three men who were charged in the Cochran's Country Market armed robbery back in July, have received their sentences.

Yesterday, in Saint John Provincial Court, Stephen Corey Richard was sentenced to a total of six and a half years in jail for an armed robbery, forcible confinement and having a face disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence. Keith Oliver Dixon also being sentenced yesterday for the same offences, and will serve six years in jail.

On November 8th, Blake Andrew Smith was sentenced to eight years in jail for armed robbery, forcible confinement and having a face disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence.

All three men have lifetime bans for owning or possessing firearms.They also had to give DNA samples for the DNA Data Bank. The court ordered the firearms used during the robbery be destroyed, and that the money seized  be returned to Cochran's Country Market.

Hit And Run In North End

City police responding to a hit and run early this morning at 2:30 am, on Main and Chesley. A truck collided with a taxi van.

Police later found the driver at the Reversing Falls. No one was seriously injured. The driver was impaired, and will appear in court on charges of impaired driving.

Saint John Boys & Girls Club Honour Contributors

The Boys and Girls Club of Saint John celebrating the valued contributions of community members in the area.
The club inducted Heinz Schaerer, and the Sisters of Charity into the "Order of Master Builders."
 
Mr. Schaerer is VP of International Sales for Connors Brothers. He says his involvement with the Boys and Girls club has been a rewarding experience. He tells CHSJ news, he got involved to help make Saint John a better place for underprivileged youth in the community. Heinz received ten tons of school supplies from Staedtler Corporation, being distributed to 24 local schools.

Mary Beth McCurdy, Congregational Leader of the Sisters of Charity tells CHSJ news, the mission of the group has been lived by the Boys and Girls Club. She says the group shares the same community care for the children. 

Contributions from the Sisters of Charity have helped the Boys and Girls Club evening youth program, serving up to 150 children and youth. The charity has also assisted with the "Heart of the Possible Campaign," resulting in a music room for youth.

Their efforts have helped youth of the Boys and Girls Club develop their musical talents featured in this video.

MLA Says Call Centre Industry Is Still Strong

Two call centres may soon be shutting their doors in the city for good, but Saint John Lancaster MLA Dorothy Shephard believes the industry is still going strong in the province.

Shephard tells CHSJ News the sector is still looking for trained employees and the hundreds of people who are losing their jobs will likely be absorbed by other centres...and there are programs they can turn to for help in the meantime.
 
She says there are all kinds of thing in place within the Department of Post-Secondary Education Training And Labour and she would be looking to the company to offer support and she thinks it will happen.

Shephard says ExxonMobil is a company that started out with 40 employees and built up to over a thousand, so they have some strength.

Organizers & Participants Set For Parade Day

This will get you thinking and feeling Christmas..tomorrow is the 61st annual Saint John Santa Claus Parade.
 
Leslie Keating of Uptown Saint John tells CHSJ News the people working on floats all week are very excited for everyone to see them.

She says an estimated 65,000 people line the parade route every year making it the biggest single day event in the City.

The parade winds its way through the uptown beginning at 6pm tomorrow night.

Questions About Call Centre Job Security Raised

With the news a total of over 400 call center employees will be looking for work with the phased-in closures of the Iron Mountain and ExonnMobil call centers in Loch Lomond mall, Liberal MLA Rick Doucet is wondering what's being done to help the people effected by the layoffs--and prevent call centers from pulling up stakes in the future.

Doucet tells CHSJ News he'd like to see the government playing a more proactive role and they should have been working with the corporations from the get go to be aware of their plans and see how they could potentially be accommodated.

Doucet--who will represent parts of Saint John after the next election--says if we're going to offer call centers subsidies to come here they'd better be iron-clad on a year by year basis so we know what their plans are and how we can make Saint John a good place for them to do business.

Grow-Op Found In Basement Of Nursing Home

Crews responding to a fire at a special care home for seniors discovering a marijuana grow-op in the basement.

RCMP seizing 550 marijuana plants, marijuana growing equipment and a large quantity of pot from the building on Shore Road in Clarks Corner, about a half an hour's drive from Oromocto. The plants seized could have potentially produced up to 275,000 joints.

The fire is believed to be related to the grow-op. All the people living ni the home were safely evacuated.

Man Arrested After Uttering Death Threats

Two men facing charges after city police were called to a disturbance call, including the man who phoned it in.

A 51-year old man who was inside a home on Duke Street and had no business being there was arrested and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, but Sergeant Jay Henderson says it didn't end there. 

Henderson says the original caller, also 51-years old, then made death threats towards the man in front of officers and was taken into custody. Both men will be appearing in provincial court.

Police also responding to an incident on Rothesay Road where gas was stolen from a garage...a car on the property also broken into and a magazine and bullets for a gun were taken but were found close by.

RRPD Launch Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign

The Rothesay Regional Police respond to at least one domestic violence call a day.

The police force is taking part in a campaign to spread awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Constable Kelly McIntyre tells CHSJ News they are holding information checkpoints and handing out pop quizes at the middle schools and high schools.

She tells us they are also handing out cookies with the purple ribbon on them which represents the woman that have been killed in domestic violence and those who are currently struggling in domestic violence situations.

The theme of the campaign is "End the Silence on Domestic Violence".

Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Underway

The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign kicking off this week in Saint John.

The annual initiative happens within the Salvation Army all around the world. 

Major Danny Pinksen is the Director of Community and Family Services.

He tells CHSJ News all the funds collected go to support community and family services initiatives. 

There will be about 15 Christmas Kettles around the city.

Big Christmas Craft Fair Starts Today

'Tis the season to at least start thinking about those hard-to-buy-for people on your Christmas list--and the Rhoda's Christmas craft fair is a great chance to get gifts and support local artists all at the same time.

It gets underway at Harbour Station at noon today and runs 10-6 on Saturday, 11-5 on Sunday. Admission is $6 regular and $5 for students and seniors, and that will get you in for the entire weekend with a hand stamp. 

The fair features art, crafts, food and antiques from dozens of vendors.

Harbour Clean-up Almost Complete

It's being called the biggest project the city has ever undertaken and it's almost finished. 

That word coming from the City's Engineering Manager Brian Keenan who says now that council has given approval to the final component, a lift-station on the West side, the Harbour Clean-Up project should be finished by mid-July of next year.

Keenan says when the project is finished, all of the waste-water that's collected into the city's system will be treated to meet the provincial regulations.

The project started in 2009 and costs $100-million.

Exxon Mobil Call Centre Closing In Saint John

Another call centre is closing in Saint John.

Exxon Mobil will be closing its doors next summer impacting  210 employees.

The company says some of those employees will be able to transfer to Moncton where its operations in New Brunswick are being consolidated but how many is unknown.

An Exxon Mobil spokesperson says this is no reflection on the work that was being done in Saint John.

City Rescinds Millidgeville Boil Water Order

A boil water order put in place on Tuesday afternoon following a watermain break is no longer in effect.

The City telling us the boil water order for parts of Millidgeville has been lifted.

It was necessary after a major watermain break on University Avenue just before 6am on Tuesday.

Saint John Water suggests letting the water run through your taps for a bit to bring new water into the system.

Welsford Bypass Officially Opens

Reps from all three levels of government on hand for the official opening of the Route 7 Welsford bypass between Saint John and Fredericton.

Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Claude Williams says it  will improve safety and relieve traffic congestion for motorists around Welsford.

Williams also says it will benefit the local trucking industry which uses this route daily for business in Saint John.

Construction of the bypass began in 2009 and was completed this fall at a cost of $63 million shared by the Province and the Feds.

VIDEO: Smouldering Ashes Lead To Fire

Fire crews responding to a house fire in East Saint John. 

Around noon crews got the call about a structure fire at 2294 Loch Lomond Road.

The home is vacant and the fire began after a caretaker who was cleaning out the woodstove put the ashes in a plastic bag.

A hole is burned into the floor of the building and the entire structure has smoke damage. No one was hurt.

Claim Being Made That A City Police Officer Is Being Persecuted

A key witness at the trial in August of 2012 of Constable Chris Messer has admitted to not telling the truth, according to an arbitrator's report obtained by CHSJ News. 

Brett McAdam testified Messer accused him of breaking into his home on Westfield Road and threatened to blow his head off.
 
Arbitrator George Filliter dismissed that allegation, writing that he did not find McAdam's testimony to be convincing. Filliter goes on to say McAdam admitted to not telling the truth before the Court or at the arbitration hearing. 

Messer also comes in for criticism with Filliter saying he should not even have spoken to McAdam about a breakin that happened at his own home and was warned against doing that but it would be unfortunate if City Police were to lose his services. Messer has an honours degree in criminology and sociology from St. Thomas University.

Messer's lawyer Brian Munro questions why a perjury charge has not been laid if the testimony given at a criminal trial is false. 

The other witness against Messer was Randy King who has a criminal record including a stretch in prison. His credibility is being questioned by Messer's lawyer Brian Munro. Messer is scheduled to stand trial in late April for common assault against King.

The Police Association says it appears Messer is being persecuted and the wrong message is being sent to criminals in the city.......All you have to do to take the heat off is to file a criminal complaint against a cop.

Donnie Snook In Court Again For Forfeiture Hearing

Donnie Snook appearing in court today to sit in on a forfeiture hearing, which essentially decides what happens to his possessions. 

The possessions in question include electronics he used to record his crimes against children. 

 A few heated exchanges occurred between Judge Alfred Brien and the crown regarding missing paperwork and a lack of specificity about what exactly was seized.

Snook appeared gaunt and tired and expressed through his lawyer, Dennis Boyle, that he does not want to be present at the continuation of the forfeiture hearing on January 8th and Boyle can represent his interests.

The Newfoundland charges against Snook have been transferred to New Brunswick and will be dealt with here on November 28th.

Dennis Oland's Family Releases Statement

Dennis Oland's family releasing a statement to the media professing his innocence adding they are devastated this nightmare is going to continue for him and all of them.

It adds they know he will be found innocent in an objective and fair process in a court of law. 

They want the police to turn their attention to finding out who is really responsible for Richard Oland’s death.

The statement closes by thanking friends and family for their support.

It was released by the family's lawyer Bill Teed. 

Clements Pleads Guilty To Arson

40 year old Timothy Edward Clements pleading guilty to two counts of arson on the Dever Road.

Police getting calls to the west side on October 22 and November 7 with a transport truck and a garage being destroyed in separate fires.
There had been a number of calls to the site before about suspicious fires.

The court heard Clements emerged from the woods soaking wet and smelling of smoke and told officers on the scene he was walking to work.
He eventually admitted setting the fires by stuffing paper into the bunk of the truck and set it ablaze and lighting the garage on fire with a shredded tire.

The damage is estimated to be well into the tens of thousands of dollars....Clements said all of his problems are the result of alcohol and traumatic events in his childhood and he wants to get help so he can get married & take care of his loved ones.

He will reappear for sentencing on December 18th.

Businessman Fined For Failing To Pay The Tax Man

A businessman getting slammed with a $2000 fine for not complying with two court orders from a previous conviction.

John William Beairsto was convicted last year on six charges of failing to file his 2009 and 2010 corporate income tax returns for his three businesses in Fredericton: The Grille on York, Queen Street Restaurant and Hannah's Foods. He was also convicted for failing to file five HST returns for those businesses and fined a grand on each of the eleven charges for a total of $11,000 and given a year to pay up.

The judge ordering him to file his outstanding returns within six months or face jail time. When he didn't pay back the money, the CRA laid charges against him and he plead guilty.

Saint John Teacher On Jeopardy! Tonight

You might see a familiar face if you tune into Jeopardy! tonight.

Saint John High School teacher Mary Ann Lewell will appear on the iconic quiz show. She is the only Canadian teacher ever to be featured on the Teacher's Tournament. Lewell tells CHSJ News she's been asked to keep it a mystery whether she won or lost until the show airs--but she says she was certainly thrilled with the experience.

Lewell says the most difficult part was getting the hang of the infamously tricky buzzer and brushing up on her US history to compete alongside teachers from south of the border. 
She teaches history and social studies at the uptown high school.

Wear Blue, Celebrate World Diabetes Day

Tomorrow international landmarks like the CN Tower and the Sydney Opera House will be lit up in blue for World Diabetes Day.

The day was designated back in 1991.
 
Kelly Hare of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation tells CHSJ News they are encouraging students and everyone to dress in blue. She says nationally you can take a picture of yourself dressed in blue and you can be entered into a contest. Hare says they have 10 youth ambassadors in New Brunswick and on the island will be pushing it through social media.

Local Filipino Community Seeks Support

Members of the Filipino Community in Saint John getting support after the devastation in the Phillipines from Typhoon Haiyan.

Ophelia Maestrado, President of Filipino Association's Saint John Chapter, tells CHSJ news the organization is planning fundraising for supports families affected by the devastation in the city of Tacloban.

Maestrado says they would encourage people in Saint John and across the province to help out during this difficult time.

Fundraisers including a bake sale, yard sale and pancake breakfast will be held in the next couple of weeks.

Man Shoots Part Of His Face Off

A Maine man learning first hand the tragedies of mixing alcohol with weapons.

Reports say 31-year-old Dale Poulin, from Waterville, Maine, shot part of his face off last Wednesday night while sharing hunting stories with friends at a home.

Police Chief Joseph Massey says it was chaotic when officers arrived at the scene, finding Poulin's teeth, chin, and blood on the floor, while the man sat in a chair missing his face from the nose down.

Reports say Poulin was showing off his rifle when he dropped it and it discharged.

Poulin is now in a Boston hospital in stable condition and is able to communicate by writing.

UPDATE: Dennis Oland In Court Today

Dennis Oland showing little emotion in the courtroom as he was formally charged with second-degree murder in the death of his father Richard more than two years ago.

The 45-year old son of the slain City businessman entering the prisoner's box dressed in a grey sweatshirt, nodding at family members who were seated in the courtroom and giving them a slight smile. When the judge asked him if he understood the charge, Oland said yes. 

He will be appearing in court again next Tuesday to set a date for a preliminary inquiry and will be held in custody in the meantime.

When asked for comment, Oland's lawyer, Gary Miller, spoke about the weather. Oland's family did not speak to the media.

Many Brave The Cold For Target Opening

As the holiday shopping season starts heating up, many eager shoppers couldn't wait for the new Target store to open its doors.

The American retail giant making its way to Canada opening three stories in the province today.

Customer Bob Nicholson tells CHSJ News it's a nice addition to Saint John.

He says it's a large store and after a quick look he says the prices seem comparable with other stores in the community.

Sandra Whitenect came to check out the store with some others who braved the cold wind waiting before the new store opened its doors at 8 this morning.

Hundreds Support Hope In The City Breakfast

Saint Johners are happy to support the work of the Salvation Army and today's Hope in the City breakfast was no exception.

Major Danny Pinksen tells CHSJ News all proceeds from the event support their Community Response Unit to provide help at fire scenes or other disasters to first responders and to victims.

He says it's also used with community programs and initiatives and if they are requested they will be the Unit out and provide support.

Frank McKenna gave a speech and he tells CHSJ News he loves the spirit of Saint John. He says it always rises up and this morning is an example when you get 600 or 700 people supporting a cause like this. McKenna noted the remarkable effort by the Salvation Army for over 100 years in this city.

More Details On Oland Arrest

Dennis Oland spent the night in lockup at Peel Plaza waiting to be officially charged with second degree murder in the death of his father, Richard Oland.

Police Cheif Bill Reid speaking at a media conference describing how Saint John Police caught up with Oland, who has been the prime suspect in the case for the past 2 years. Police caught up with Dennis Oland while he was leaving to wash his car, says the police chief. He was arrested away from his Rothesay home without incident.

Reid declined to comment on whether Oland confessed, on the murder weapon, or any specifics of how Richard Oland died in his office back in July 2011.

VIDEO: Dennis Oland Charged With Second Degree Murder

The son of a businessman found murdered in his Canterbury Street office more than two years ago has been charged with second degree murder in the Richard Oland investigation.

Members of the police spotted Dennis Oland's vehicle in Rothesay yesterday and arrested him without incident. Police Chief Bill Reid says there was not enough evidence for a first degree murder charge. Reid says there's no indication that anyone else was involved in Richard's death.

Reid would not comment on the cost of the investigation or cause of death apart from repeated blows to Richard's body.

Young Woman Arrested For Arson

A young woman who allegedly started a fire in an apartment complex on Winter Street has been arrested both for arson and a breach of probation.

Crews were called to the blaze which started in the storage area of the building shortly after 6pm. After an investigation crews found the fire had been set intentionally....it was quickly brought under control.

Man Who Saved Colleague's Life Recognized By City

It was a surreal experience that happened fast...that's how a city works employee describes saving the life of his co-worker a month ago when a one-ton truck crashed into an asphalt trailer. 

Kevin Hicks was part of a maintenance crew offloading equipment for an asphalt job on Hillcrest Road when it happened. He says after hearing the truck approaching fast, he grabbed Ken McCarthy by the shoulder and pulled him out of the way. Hicks has worked with McCarthy for about eight years. He says the crew is together all the time and they all look out for each other.

Target Opens Its Door In Saint John Today

Target opens for business at 8am today in McAllister place.

The new stores across the country have been met with many excited consumers as the American retail giant brings its brand north of the border.

The new location also includes a Starbucks.

BREAKING: Arrest Made In Oland Murder

Police making an arrest in the Richard Oland murder investigation.

Dennis Oland, his 45-year old son, was arrested today and will be appearing in court tomorrow afternoon. 

The 69-year old city businessman was found dead in his office on Canterbury Street in July, 2011. Documents from search warrants show blood on a coat belonging to Dennis Oland matched the DNA profile of his father, and also that he owed him a lot of money. The search warrants also portray a dysfunctional family relationship. 

His uncle, Derek Oland, releasing a statement saying they believe Dennis is innocent and will support him and his family members.

Police have made no secret of the fact that Dennis has been the prime suspect in the case. They will be releasing more information at 10am tomorrow at Peel Plaza.

DalMed NB Gets $150,000 From Cooke Aquaculture

Cooke Aquaculture donating $150,000  to the Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick research campaign.
 
CEO Glenn Cooke tells CHSJ News they have adopted a Health and Safety policy slogan called 'Anchored in Safety'.
Cooke says this donation is a commitment to the program here in New Brunswick.

He says they are proud of the association that Dalhousie has with the province and how it can help all of us.

Cooke says any findings from researchers at the DalMed NB program could be moved into the company's guidelines.

Youth Crime Rate Dropping 27% Since 2009

The province's youth crime rate experiencing a drastic drop in the past four years. 

The RCMP say it has gone down by 27% since 2009, when they put their Youth Intervention and Diversion Strategy in place. They say the strategy has resulted in a cultural shift in the way police officers deal with young people who come into contact with law enforcement. The strategy leading to more than 1700 youth being diverted away from the criminal justice system in the province. 

That information coming out of the police's recently released 2012-2013 annual report.

Man, Woman From Quebec Killed In Highway Crash

A car crash on Highway 11 claiming the lives of a man and a woman from Quebec.

The collision happening near Belledune around 10:30 Monday morning. The two from Rimouski, who were traveling together in one vehicle, dying from their injuries. The woman in the other car, from Eel River Crossing, being taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

RCMP say the road conditions were poor at the time of the crash, causing one driver to lose control of the vehicle and collide with the other.

Partial Boil Water Order Issued Following Watermain Break

Saint John Water issuing a boil water order following the watermain break on University Avenue this morning.

It happened near the Gorman Arena leaving many homes without water.

Potable water users east of the intersection of University Avenue and Woodhaven Drive are expected to be out of water for most of the day.

The boil water order imparts University Avenue between the St. John and St. Stephen home to Sandy Point road along with Royal parkway, Alpha place, Polaris and Christopher courts.

It also includes Varsity street, Craig & Alrington Crescent, Tucker Park road, Cranberry Hill, Fieldstone Drive, Sandy Point road from 1099 at University Avenue to 2001 at Kennebecasis Drive.  

1240 Kennebecasis Drive and Westmount Drive are also under the boil water order.

Before consuming water from your tap, bring it to a rolling boil for at least a minute. 

Two clean tests 24 hours apart are needed before the boil water order can be lifted.

Ogden Named Parade Marshall

Barry Ogden is the honorary parade marshall for the Santa Claus parade this weekend.

Ogden is a well known having taught at Saint John high for more than 30 years.
 
He is famous for being the founder of the annual Marigolds on Main event which earned a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records.

The 61 annual Saint John Santa Claus Parade is coming up on Saturday night at 6pm.
The theme is the 12 Days of Christmas.

Joshua Group Hopes To Win $ In Contest

It would be a huge help in completing one of the buildings at their new home on the Sandy Point Road.
 
The Joshua Group is in the running to win funding from the Aviva Community Fund contest.
 
Founder Bobby Hayes tells CHSJ News they have 28 acres at their new spot on the old Peacock's property.

He says the money would go towards finishing the work on their new home and to keep providing hot meals for the kids.

The Joshua Group is currently helping helping disadvantaged kids between the ages of 2 and 18.

Stabbing Victim Remains In Hospital

A 26 year old man remains in hospital in stable condition after being stabbed on Monday.

Two people were taken into custody following the incident just after 11am yesterday on Waterloo street.

Water Main Break Means No Water For Some

Water users east of the intersection of University Avenue and Millidge Avenue are expected to be out of water for most of the day as a result of a major water main break this morning.

The Department of Health has been notified.

Major Sinkhole on University Avenue

Saint John Water is reporting a large water main break on University Avenue that's caused a major sinkhole. The city says they'll be sending us more details shortly. 

City works are on scene. If you're headed that way, proceed with caution.

City Worker Being Called "A Hero"

A city works employee is being recognised for saving the life of a colleague when a one ton truck collided with an asphalt trailer a month ago.
 
Kevin Hicks was part of a maintenance crew that was deploying equipment along Hillcrest Road for an asphalt job. A one ton truck was approaching the work site but wasn't slowing down. 

Even though he couldn't see the truck approaching, Hicks recognised by the sound that it wasn't slowing down and he pulled fellow crew member Ken McCarthy out of the way just in the nick of time because a split second later the collision happened.

Premier Being Tied To Prime Minister And Not In A Good Way

The biennial convention in Saint John over the weekend of provincial Liberals heard party leader Brian Gallant go out of his way to tie Premier David Alward together with Prime Minister Harper. 

Gallant wonders how this relationship is benefiting the province, claiming this close relationship between the Premier and the Prime Minister will result in New Brunswick getting relatively less for health care, research and skills training.
 
He also calls the TV ad featuring the Premier following the announcement of the Energy East pipeline "Harperesque" by using tax dollars to persuade people what a good job his government is doing and how the provincial economy is turning around. Gallant scoffs at this claim with the quip "We turning the corner into the trenches".

Canadian Soldiers Held In High Esteem

The Royal Canadian Legion getting together with the town of St. George to fly banners complete with photos of more than 50 veterans as part of the Remembrance Day commemoration.  The Legion is now getting calls from across the country. The banners will be given to family members.

German war records have been researched by Dr. Marc Milner of the Gregg Centre at U-N-B. He discovered the Germans viewed Canadian soldiers as the crucial troops in the British Commonwealth formations leading up to D-Day. 

Dr. Milner says the Germans thought of the Canadian soldiers during the First World War as the shock troops of the British Empire.

He has also found out the Germans were keeping a close eye on where the Canadian soldiers would be and, because of this, the Canadians were utilised as part of a grand deception to lead the enemy into mistakenly believing the D-Day landing would be at Calais and not Normandy.

Saint John Police saying two people being arrested after a stabbing shortly after 11 this morning.
