Highlights From Today's Run For The Cure

Jamieson Miami Bound
It's a trip to Miami this week for Tourism Minister Stuart Jamieson and an official from the Port of Saint John are off to Miami this week. They will promote the cruise ship industry and encourage travel journalism in our area. Captain Al Soppitt tells CHSJ News, even with plenty of vessels still to visit this fall, they are working diligently on next years schedule. Soppitt adds when this years cruise ship season wraps up, 192,000 people will have paid a visit to Saint John. They are shooting to lock up 200,000 for next year, a goal they had set for 2012.
CIBC Run for the Cure
Whether your taking part in it or not, there will be some road closures and delays for the CIBC Run for the Cure which goes today. Water Street and St. Patricks as they connect to Union and King. Douglas off of Chesley will be closed as will Douglas and Main streets. Expect delays on Chesley along Harbour Passage and the Viaduct heading northwest will be down to 1 lane - the outside lane, so keep an eye out for runners. The roads will be closed or have slow moving traffic from eleven in the morning until three in the afternoon.
