The town of Rothesay has locked up a garbage collection deal with Dominion Refuse Collectors. Town council has awarded a four year garbage collection and transportation contract to the company for 885 thousand dollars. The only other bidder was Fero Waste and Recycling for 1.8 million dollars--and--the engineers estimate was 1.05 million.
The contract runs from 2010 until the end of 2013 with the option of extending the deal another two years after that for 450 thousand dollars.
