Today is Earth Day and many schoolchildren and adults will be taking part in clean up efforts.
A-CAP Executive Director Tim Vickers tells CHSJ News agrees with a survey that found the majority of Canadians want to see pollution reduced and place a high priority on recycling.
For the second year in a row, employees with the City of Saint John will be honouring Earth Day with a lunch-hour litter pickup on Harbour Passage and around City facilities. Up to 20 different cleanups are happening over the next week involving over 1000 people from schools, community groups and businesses. According to Vickers, illegal dumping is an issue that is coming back to the forefront.
