The Saint John Police Force and the local Boys and Girls Club starting a new program that is the first of its kind in North America.
Debbie Cooper with the Boys and Girls Club tells CHSJ News it's called the Junior Police Academy, and the goal is to help turn some of the city's youth around while getting them involved in the community.
Cooper says during the 3 year program the youth involved will recieve the same kind of training that someone gets when they want to go into the police force, re-vamped so it is appropriate for 10-13 year olds.
