The long spell of grey and wet weather is causing major hardships on the finances of the Cherry Brook Zoo.
Director of Zoo Development Lynda Collrin tells CHSJ News gate and gift shop revenue is down 12 thousand dollars, revenue from seminars has dropped 8 thousand dollars, and donations are slowing down because the rainy skies are keeping visitors away.
However, despite the red ink, Collrin says there will not be any cuts to staff or programs.
She says the zoo is looking into holding some extra events during the summer months in an effort to make up some financial ground.
