Despite some opposition from rural residents, Premier David Alward says the province needs to move forward in reforming local government.
The Premier is promising the province will work side-by-side with people who are concerned about what the changes will meanm for them.
The Alward government has put forward a plan to amalgamate New Brunswick's 370 municipalities into 54 larger ones. Alward says there will always be concerns but that doesn't mean the current system can stay the same.
He tells CHSJ News 15 of 20 meetings on local government have already been held across the province, and have been excellent. People in the Saint John area can have their say at a meeting this Wednesday night at the Community College on Grandview Avenue.
