The list of candidates in the rural community of Campobello Island is slim with just weeks to go before the ballot boxes are brought out.
David Owens is the Assistant Electoral Officer and tells CHSJ News, there may be a fear of the unknown as this is new for the area.
Owens adds if no one throws their hat into the ring so to speak, Elections NB then contacts the Department of Local Government and holds a round of by-elections in May.
The election is scheduled for November.15th. Only one candidate, Terrence Preston, has come forward to offer for ward councillor.
