City Is A Living Lab
Saint John has undergone major social, economic and technological changes over the last twenty years and now university researchers will study the city's transition.
U-N-B Saint John has set up a new research programme, the Urban and Community Studies Institute, at Beaverbrook House in the uptown.
Politics professor Don Desserud will be the Institute's first director and he tells CHSJ News the city's transformation will be of interest to researchers across North America.
Desserud calls Saint John "a living lab" and says the research could be used by anti-poverty and housing groups when they try to get money from governments.
