Brett Cameron says he met a boy last year inspiring with his joyful look at life despite having a serious illness.
He tells CHSJ News it's the least he can do so, he is busy preparing himself physically for the journey.
He says as long as people are supporting him he has no doubts about being ready when the time comes.
Cameron is lining up sponsors for his cross-country trek and he has some friends who say they want to join him.
