Surprise........That's the reaction of pharmacists after hearing Provincial Health Minister Madelaine Dube turned down their offer to vaccinate people for whooping cough which has hit New Brunswick hard.
50 per cent of the whooping cough cases in the country are in New Brunswick and that has been a spike this summer.
The Executive-Director of the New Brunswick Pharmacists Association, Paul Blanchard tells CHSJ News the idea isn't so far fetched because American pharmacists are already doing it with immunisation rates increasing as a result.
Blanchard argues it would be alot more convenient for people to be vaccinated at a pharmacy which is open all day well into the evening.
