Two Saint Johners in their 60s getting busted for fraud under the Canada Pension Act. Cecile Deschamps and Herman Thompson pleaded guilty to the charges in November.
An RCMP investigating revealing between May 2004 and October 2006 Deschamps was collecting disability payments while still gainfully employed. She was fined $4,500 and must pay back over $15,000 to Canada Revenue.
In a separate investigation it was found Thompson was also fraudulently getting disability while also working. He was fined $3000 and ordered to pay back over $22,000.
