Organised Labour in the province sending out a message to mark International Women's Day that there's still alot of work to be done to ensure women's equality.
Tammy Moore chairs the New Brunswick Federation of Labour's Women's Committee and she tells CHSJ News pay equity and not having access to affordable childcare are squeezing the middle class. Moore says they've been told this is not the right time for pay equity considering the fragile state of the economy.
Moore is also disturbed by a provincial survey that found 53 per cent of New Brunswickers believe it's not a crime to slap your wife in the face after an argument and 27 per cent don't believe it's a crime to rape your wife.
