Carla Chisholm says her friend, father of two Robert Thornton was born with a rare heart condition and a transplant is now his only option. Chisholm tells CHSJ News they are hoping to raise 20-thousand-dollars.
She says they are living at the mercy of the public and Robert has been overwhelmed at the generosity and all the caring hearts.
Chisholm says the money will go towards medical expenses including travel costs and living costs while in Halifax as well as any medications that aren't covered.
