The Premier taking a trip to the west side to announce funding to help vets make improvements to their buildings.
David Alward announcing an existing program will now allow veteran's groups to apply for grants up to 50 per cent of the project's cost not exceeding $50,000.
Paul Poirier of the New Brunswick Legion tells CHSJ News the work might include repairs to the roofs of a Legion or installing wheelchair ramps.
He tells us many of the branches were built in the 1950's and 1960's adding some branches are being sold and new smaller replacements are being built.
He says Branch 69 is about 8000 square feet but vets today don't need that much space.
