A warning from Rothesay Regional Police now that the weather will soon be getting warmer.....The spring and summer months bring a dramatic increase in the amount of complaints about“thefts from motor vehicles” as well as “persons prowling late at night”.
In the K-V in 2012 there were 170 reports resulting in a significant number of charges and convictions.
Police say lock up your vehicles and if you see somebody in your car, or in a neighbours car don't holler out the window because this will often give the suspect, a substantial head start in getting away. Get the best description you can, call police and be patient.
Police say a myth is if you lock your car doors, your windows will be broken by someone anxious to get inside.
