Organizations on Facebook and Twitter have to strike a fine balance between being engaging and keeping it professional. Paul Stackhouse of the Saint John Firefighters Association says they strive to walk that line.
Stackhouse tells CHSJ News they have to be very cautious about what they post online, making sure everything is accurate, and says they don't reply to every tweet they receive.
They're active on their website, Facebook and Twitter in order to stay current and engage with the people living in Saint John. However, by actively posting and re-tweeting what they're doing on various platforms, they've been able to reach a wider audience. Stackhouse says they're now able to connect with firefighters all across the country.
